"I'm stressed, I want to smoke," said a girl friend P while yum-cha-ing (to have a drink and talk crapz in mamak stall for hours) late night on Friday.
And instantly the three men at the table, smoking, started encouraging her to start smoking. The only two who don't smoke at the table were P and I.
I refused to smoke for any reasons, but probably Virginia Slims would get me.
It was only Thursday when I saw three girls smoking at mamak stalls. They were tall, slim and smoking hot.
Girl friend S thus said that smoking looks sexy. Smoking makes a girl slimmer. But girl friend B firmly insisted that smoking is bad for health.
"Never ever smoke," said B.
On another occasion, a guy friend Vin said : "Once you say the girl smokes, I don't think she's hot anymore."
And back to the yum-cha scene on Friday night - it actually lasted till Saturday early morning - there were three girls at the table, and one of us did smoke. And she was pretty, sexy, and hot. To me.
Strangely these days I'm finding more and more ladies who smoke are prettier and sexier.
No yellow teeth, no darker lips, no shorter height, no blurry eyes, no disgusting smells. Instead they are tall and SLIM, and SEXY.
So does smoking makes a lady sexy, or it makes her go down the drain in a guy's mind like the one of Vin?
In my opinion, a lady smoking IS sexy when she holds something like Virginia Slims and very confident about everything of herself.
Smoking might actually boost the confidence of a lady, I guess. When you see them puffing smokes into the air, it's almost like the whole world is in their hands with no doubt.
But of course, when a lady smokes too much that her teeth goes yellow and her voice sounds like duck, it's not sexy anymore.
Talking rationally, I think that smoking appropriately elegantly is sexy, but the price to pay in the end might be too much.
On Sunday I interviewed a man who had gone through five bypass within 24 hours.
"Don't smoke, " advised him, for countless times.
So stop smoking, ladies. One puff of cigarette means one part of your lungs has blacken. And it wouldn't be clean after 10 years of not smoking.
But still, the world would be less interesting and less sexier to see, if every lady stops smoking.
Evil enough, I still enjoy watching ladies smoking away sexily, when smoke gets into your eyes.

I hate smoking and smokers!!!
wasting $$, pollute the air, jeopardize the health of themselves and ppl around, and may cause fire hazard!!
sadly I have frens who are smokers but i respect them because they wont smoke in front of us and pollute the air and force us to breathe in the irritating smoke
haha if my bf starts smoking i will dump him immediately!
mushroom:
lolz...yeah smoking is bad for health...certainly..
wish ur bf dun start smoking also..:P
hmmm my opinion is that smoking does not boost one's confidence. instead i think it's juz a way to hide the fact tat a person is not very confidence of herself, smoke to make herself looks tougher.
and no matter wat, a person who smokes really smells like the smoke. and it's doesnt smell nice. AND! they are harmful to non-smokers, more than the smokers, as the smokers inhale more of the "filtered" nicotine, tobacco (whichever is carcinogenic) and exhale the smoke out.
hmmm a bit blur of wat i'm saying alr (the after-effect of studying too much @___@). but wat i actually wanna mean is that the smokers will inhale less of the smoke as they are exhaling whereas anyone nearby would juz inhale the harmful smoke.
i seriously look down on ppl who smoke everywhere, esp smoking at non-smoking area! if u wanna kill urself go ahead. i dont wanna die because of the smoke.
hmmm i think it's time for me to slp alr. a bit unstable alr. hahahaha.
lesson learnt: neva study too much in a day even it's near finals alr!
I'm the same like the Vin you're talking about....
Girls who smokes, in the eyes of men... are bad girls...
They loses their dignity, and for me... speaking in a harsh tone... They're chicks with no value!
Most of the guy think in this way, so avoid smoking...
If you want slimming, go for something healthier such as yoga. :-)

I beg to differ from your statement there. Smokers inhale the concentrated smoke direct from the ciggarette.
Subsequently, our natural air is inhaled and is mixed with the direct ciggarette smoke.
Lastly, the exhale would be dispersed out into the open air. The second hand smoke you breathe in is just a very small portion. Harmful you say? Try taking a walk in KL during peak hours.
Besides, would you happen to have any conclusive evidence or statistic which clearly points towards second hand smoke being more harmful than motor pollution?
spitz :
eh....i also read somewhere tat secondhand smokers die faster -.-""
but i guess actually....we inhale more smokes from air pollution (cars, factories, etc) than we inhale from cigarette smoke...
Still gotta die fast +______+
but anyway of coz, dun lah smoke in "non-smoking areas"!...not respecting to non-smokers la..
and...hehe, gambateh wif ur finals!!
jcx:
errr yeah la some men do think that girls who smoke are degrading themselves - but only when they have not yet SEEN the pretty girl who smokes in person. @.@
and this is relaly harsh ler >< - "They're chicks with no value!"
When a guy heard description of a pretty who smokes, he feels the girl is bad; However when a guy see a pretty girl smokes, he thinks she's cool. LOL
But yeah la...smoking is not healthy...
anonymous :
erm actually i agree wif spitz that secondhand smokers inhale the more harmful parts of the smokes...but then again, yeah i also agree wif u tat smokers is actually quite minor factor to air pollution la...
Smoke is literally anywhere la ><
Nope... even a pretty, sexy girl is smoking alone in the corner, I won't feel that she is cool or attractive.
Even though she's behaving nice and gentle, but with a cigarette in her hand, sorry.... I'll still say the same harsh thing about her.
anonymous:
well i do not have the evidence that second hand smoke is more harmful than motor pollution. and in the 1st place, i never said that second hand smoke is more harmful than motor pollution. but if i'm gonna die because of motor pollution, i wouldnt want to die even earlier because of second hand smoke.
as for the statement, i would like to first define some terms.
there are two types of tobacco smoke: mainstream and sidestream smoke. Mainstream smoke refers specifically to the smoke that a smoker inhales and then exhales, while side-stream smoke refers to the smoke that wafts off the end of a lit cigarette, cigar, or pipe.
now, about secondhand smoke. it is a general term for any smoke non-smokers are exposed to, and consists of both the mainstream and sidestream smokes.
studies had revealed that inhaled fresh secondhand smoke is approximately four times more toxic per gram in its total particulate matter than mainstream cigarette smoke (the smoke the smoker himself inhales). and the details u might read in the reference below. the smoke inhaled by smoker are filtered!
if u are still not convinced, have a look at a cigarette. there's usually a filter tip structure which has the purpose of reducing the amount of smoke, tar, and fine particles inhaled during the combustion of a cigarette.
however, it's no use really to argue over who got the worse effects from smoking. smoking is nevertheless harmful to both smokers and non-smokers.
sorry irumi! like clogging up ur comment section alr. hahaha.
